Masterpiece 2.0, a social media art project by Baschz and Selfcontrolfreak.
Masterpiece 2.0 is the latest project from and Selfcontrolfreak and Baschz (who if you've been following the Wooster site for a while, was formerly known as Betamaxxx)
While we'd love to explain the project to you ourselves, but it's so complex (and in our minds, brilliant) that perhaps we should just share the artist's statement:
"It’s the first ever canvas being made with a Web 2.0 approach. The canvas interacts with its visitors who can affect the process and final outcome of this masterpiece.
Through actions like Introduce Object, Shirt 'Em and Cameo Appearance you can interact with Selfcontrolfreak, right on the canvas! This will add new animation to the time-lapse movie and get you a one-off hi-res image of one of your animation's frames, created and signed by Baschz.
You can follow the whole process LIVE through the webcam and Twitter feeds.
The final multilayered canvas and documentation of the project are being auctioned, so you can become the owner of this unique painting!"
Confused? Don't worry. Click here and to check out the site.

Being massive Bukowski fans, we can't wait to get our hands on the holographic image that Toy Culture created from a 2 1/2 second moving image taken from Barbet Schroeder's The Bukowski tapes - 1985, 1997. Theimage is of Bukowski raising a beer bottle to his mouth, taking a drink, then putting the bottle down.

From the Span of Sunset site: Bill McMullen's "Attack of the Shelltoe AD-ATs" painting is one of the smartest pieces of art to come out in the new millennium. Playing off of both the Empire Strikes Back and shoe-collector mythos and framing it with a letterboxed border, the piece does more than just look rad. By placing ominous big business (Adidas) into ominous pop culture (Star Wars), it goes beyond the mere rip off graphics of early 90s skateboard decks and Fresh Jive t-shirts. While those attempted to say "Fuck You" and "We're so cool" via their co- optation and modification of corporate identity, Mr. McMullen's work attempts, and succeeds by tearing into the shady worlds of corporate sponsorship, cinema, and cool, without getting all indignant or corny. Unlike a Winston Smith (Dead Kennedy's collage artist) who would emphasize the scariness of the corporate scene, Mr. McMullen shows us just how enticing it is. How our trained love of logos and powerful imagery affects our attitudes, right down to our own personal definitions of what rad is: a branding of personal identity through corporate identity. Scary? Yes. Obvious? Yes. But most importantly: Mr. McMullen is Elegant.
We asked Bill how inspiration struck and he replied, "The toy is based on an illustration I did several years ago and was just a bug- out that I can't really explain." Hey, that's good enough for us -- this ish is HAUTE!

Chuck D and Public Enemy are back with some of their best tracks in years. Be sure to check out not only the new PE single, Son of A Bush, but also Chuck's new project, Fine Arts Militia. The track, A Twisted Sense of God Pt 1, is worth the price of the album alone. Here's the lyrics:
A Twisted Sense of God (pt.1.)
I was talking to my assistant a couple of months back, and while we were talking about the obvious differences in men and women, I had to give up and say that men couldn't handle the period cycles that women go through. She countered and told me that men do have periods . . .
They're called WARS.
There's little words that can describe what happened here in the United States on Tuesday September 11 2001. I was in New York when it was goin down. My heart goes out to those in the aircrafts, the buildings, the rescuers killed on the ground. As a person who has traveled across 40 countries in the world, I can attest to the fact that the common peoples on the earth have long suffered, and swallowed the bullet of the greed of governmental rule and arrogance. Power is a funny thing, when poured on the few individuals that are selected to govern people, no matter where they're at on the earth... it makes manipulation a close cousin.
Mad questions abound. Whoever the so called hijackers or planners answered to, my question is how come their superiors didn't put THEIR lives on the line? I don't buy religious martyrdom if the leader heads themselves can't get in the same box. It's problematic when one is trained and taught to die for religious elevation while the heads of that structure are rich as hell and don't share the wealth with their followers. On the other side, the United States is talking war but who is actually gonna fight those battles, and with whom?
War is not a football game, y'all.
BUSH and the rest of these 50PLUSWHITEMEN (C.POWELL included) will not be on the air or field. I repeat they will not be on the air or field. They're making definite decisions and I have a problem with the arrogance of most governments period. I have a problem with the arrogance of MAN period. There is little if any humilitty on both parts.
The skeptical pendulum is swinging both ways as far as culprits are concerned. I have a problem with dragging innocent people into political high level bull shit. There will be innocent people catching it bad across both waters, infested with a lethal combination of fact, attacks, myth, dogma and orders.
I have a problem with Amerikka walking out and damn near shitting on the WORLD RACISM CONFERENCE in SOUTH AFRICA. I have issues with the United States talking cocky, considering while admitting themselves about the carrying out of assassinations. I have a problem with heartless cats training to fly planes in order to kill thousands of innocent people in the air or on the ground. I have a problem with some nations and it's protectors how they refuse to acknowledge their major contribution to this cycle of terror and greed. I have a problem that Americans consider it a over there issue, as if it was on another planet. I have a problem with Amerikka with three K's, and it's relentless hyping and macho barroom talkes of a 'beat-u'down' past. I don't have a problem on what America can be. In NEW YORK a place known for people not giving a damn about the next person, all of a sudden people are communicating with one another regardless of background unless the person has a Middle Eastern 'visual characterstic' and that's where Amerikkka, that's with three K's, and not America spelled properly, rears it's ugliness. Understand the difference y'all... Twisted.
Why everybody wanna kill God? It's wack when people oblivious to the facts are dragged into war and death. It's wack when cats throw religion into the mix. It's wack that celebrations are taking place in the streets of some nations and just as terrible as some Texans shooting and burning a mosque in Abiline. Just as horrible is the fact that Amerikkkans jumped in celebratory joy when two atomic bombs were dropped on JAPAN in 1945, and updated hate in 2001 about people calling people of backgrounds 'dogs' it's documented. I can go on and on and on about the inner and outer, and still continued 'terrorism' endorsed Amerikkkan that's with three K's style, as eloquently pointed out and covered by my man Art McGee's Black Radical Congress piece. Terror Attacks. Ignoring calls for reparations, only endorses a past of slavery, KKK, COINTELPRO, Japanese WW2 concentration camps etc. etc. that's been hosted here in the same land of the free everybody's talking about. When it all boils down to it, power has never been with the people. The people of the earth are still PAWNS IN THE GAME, while the boardmasters, the rulers of countries, corporations, giant and religious leaderships operate under the guise of 'IN GOD WE TRUST' or even 'ALLA U AKBAR' where an action assumes the position of an act of God. It's not what you say you are, it's what you prove you are. So avoid this latest rhetoric and arrogance that's woven with this 'twisted sense of god', while the everyday person is shook by a new existence in this odec, this centruy, this millennium.
On the real, in all sense of humility may god bless us all beyond the flags.
Why y'all wanna kill God?
A twisted sense of God.

So it looks like this coming Monday, September 15th, may be the day when the Bathing Ape/adidas remixed Superstars I's (now called, appropriately "Super APE Stars") have finally cleared US customs and will go on sale at the adidas Soho store. (At least that's what the manager of the store has been telling us so if they don't go on sale Monday, don't blame us, okay?). If you haven't seen them yet, it's definately some of Nigo's best work to date. We've been eyein' the Remix camos in the plexi cases at the adidas store for a couple of weeks now. When they do go out on Monday, the whole thing will last the blink of an eye, as there's only 500 pair of three different styles. That's 500 pair per style worldwide! So don't expect more than 50 pair or so at the Soho store. The Superskate remix's are set to launch in October.
The BAPE shoes are part of the adidas !s!gned (I-signed) series, an on-going collaborative project between adidas and emerging artists and designers. Past collaborations have included Bless, Saskia Van Drimmelen, Kostas Murkudis, NOKI, Stella McCartney, OWN, Jeremy Scott and ALIFENYC.
So if you head over to the store on Monday, look out for a dude and his dog (a brown Weimie named Hudson) We'll be out there on line with the rest of you guys.
Each comes in a custom adidas/BAPE camo box, with special BAPE tissue paper and a leather hang tag. Each box also includes 3 different pair of custom BAPE extra fat laces.
Price: Probably around $150 if I remember correctly, but again, don't quote us.

If you haven't figured it out yet from reading the Wooster site, we fuckin' love So Fuzzy Crew. So when CUE told us he had just finished producing his first toy, we couldn't wait to see it.
From Cue: "I've just filled one of the black rabbits' mouths with red paint and its fangs are now dripping blood _ it looks pretty sweet. Im going to photograph it tomorrow... BE VERY AFRAID... the next step is to make the roadkill rabbit, which will also probably have lots of blood on it... sweet."

This morning we got to peep the latest edition of Soundwalk - the super cool CD based "audio guide for insiders" that you may have seen at Urban Outfitters in NYC. (That is if you're the Urban Outfitters type) After creating tours of New York's Chinatown, the Lower East Side, Times Square and Dumbo, the guys over at Soundwalk/Oversampling have now teamed up with adidas to produce a kickass hip hop inspired audio tour of the Bronx. Yes, the fuckin' Bronx. 'about time the Bronx got some respect. This time out the Soundwalk team has spared no expense, blowing the thing up to three CD's. Each CD tackles a distinct Bronx neighborhood: Yankee Stadium, Hunts Point and Soundview. One of the CD's features Hunts Point killer graffiti scene, with emphasis on the TATS CRU, CRASH, CHAIN3 and the artwork of John Ahearn and Rigoberto Torres. The narrator is none other than BG183 of TATS CRU. Another CD centers on the Soundview/Bronx River area that's the home of Afrika Bambaataa and the Zulu Nation and is known as the birthplace of hip-hop. It includes interviews with Afrika Bambaataa, GrandWizzard Theodore, Kool DJ Red Alert, and GrandMaster Caz. Narrator is the legendary DJ and producer The Original Jazzy Jay, who started playing in the streets of the Bronx under the guidance of Afrika Bambaataa. He's worked with Fat Joe, Brand Nubian, A Tribe Called Quest, and many others. Pretty dope, right?
Availability: You gotta wait until the 16th of this month. Then you can get it at places like the MoMa Design Store, Tower Records, The Apartment, and other places
Price: Around 20 bucks, but don't quote us if it's more

We've known for a while that anything East London's Low Wage Crew (PMH, D*Face, Mysterious Al, Chimp) lends their talents to is definitely gonna be top notch. These guys don't fuck around. If you attended the Finders Keepers shows in London then you know that quality is paramount for LWC. So when D*Face let us peep his new tee before it hits stores, we knew it was gonna be great. And it is. From the handscreened boxes to the individually numbered labels, no expense is spared.
A clarification from PMH regarding LWC: "right sir, there are two crews - LOW WAGE CREW and FINDERS KEEPERS (FKC).....low wage started ages ago and is very loose, like the wu tang, it includes ronzo and anyone who keeps it dirty, wheras FKC (finders keepers) is super serious, THE collective, and is me, mysterious al, d face and dave the chimp.....we be FKC -- i told you we got a halloween show at jag shoes, our first ever group show and its gonna be hella sick!"
Sizes: Small, Medium, Large.
Colors: Powder Blue (as shown), Dust and Steel. (D*Face: What color is dust? Dust is a color? Is this a British thing?)
Method: Each tee comes in a hand screen printed and painted box. Each one unique.
Limited Edition: Each shirt is limited to a run of 100 and has a sleeve embroidered label and the inside neck is printed with a limited edition number and detail.
Available: Nowhere. Yet!! To get one, email D*Face at dface@stolenspace.com
Price: B#30.
Notice to stores: If anyone out there wants to stock them, please let D*Face know.

We've been a huge fan of Chip Kidd's book jacket designs since first seeing his work on Donna Tart's THE SECRET HISTORY in 1992 (a collaboration with Barbara de Wilde). Yale University Press' Monographics Books now gives Chip the full on star treatment he deserves with a well illustrated book that examines Kidd's design work and the context behind it. If you are a designer or artist, this will be a book that you will return to time and time again for inspiration.

We've been diggin' Ewos' whacked out graf for a while now, so we couldn't have been happier to learn that Ewos' Angry Dog character is included in the latest Qee Series from Toy2R. When the new Kid Robot store opened on Sunday around the corner from our flat in Soho, we immediately headed over and dropped a shit load of our hard earned money in pursuit of getting one of Ewos' figures in the blind chase. Alas we didn't get one, but that's not going to stop us. Payday is Friday and we're going back for more.
Via Email from Ewos on 9/9: "Hey wooster! hahah i laughed alot at your text on my qee daamn! well i sell them too and then you get the red-black one in a polybag (special edition) or the black and white one in the box. could you put this email order_gee@hotmail.com for peolpe that really want this one ans not buy alot untill they got the one they want..."
