Super APE Stars
So it looks like this coming Monday, September 15th, may be the day when the Bathing Ape/adidas remixed Superstars I's (now called, appropriately "Super APE Stars") have finally cleared US customs and will go on sale at the adidas Soho store. (At least that's what the manager of the store has been telling us so if they don't go on sale Monday, don't blame us, okay?). If you haven't seen them yet, it's definately some of Nigo's best work to date. We've been eyein' the Remix camos in the plexi cases at the adidas store for a couple of weeks now. When they do go out on Monday, the whole thing will last the blink of an eye, as there's only 500 pair of three different styles. That's 500 pair per style worldwide! So don't expect more than 50 pair or so at the Soho store. The Superskate remix's are set to launch in October. The BAPE shoes are part of the adidas !s!gned (I-signed) series, an on-going collaborative project between adidas and emerging artists and designers. Past collaborations have included Bless, Saskia Van Drimmelen, Kostas Murkudis, NOKI, Stella McCartney, OWN, Jeremy Scott and ALIFENYC. So if you head over to the store on Monday, look out for a dude and his dog (a brown Weimie named Hudson) We'll be out there on line with the rest of you guys. Each comes in a custom adidas/BAPE camo box, with special BAPE tissue paper and a leather hang tag. Each box also includes 3 different pair of custom BAPE extra fat laces. Price: Probably around $150 if I remember correctly, but again, don't quote us.

BE VERY AFRAID... the next step is to make the roadkill rabbit, which will also probably have lots of blood on it... sweet." Price: Wholesales for £20 Available on the So Fuzzy Crew Website for now. The Bronx Soundwalk
This morning we got to peep the latest edition of Soundwalk - the super cool CD based "audio guide for insiders" that you may have seen at Urban Outfitters in NYC. (That is if you're the Urban Outfitters type) After creating tours of New York's Chinatown, the Lower East Side, Times Square and Dumbo, the guys over at Soundwalk/Oversampling have now teamed up with adidas to produce a kickass hip hop inspired audio tour of the Bronx. Yes, the fuckin' Bronx. 'about time the Bronx got some respect. This time out the Soundwalk team has spared no expense, blowing the thing up to three CD's. Each CD tackles a distinct Bronx neighborhood: Yankee Stadium, Hunts Point and Soundview. One of the CD's features Hunts Point killer graffiti scene, with emphasis on the TATS CRU, CRASH, CHAIN3 and the artwork of John Ahearn and Rigoberto Torres. The narrator is none other than BG183 of TATS CRU. Another CD centers on the Soundview/Bronx River area that's the home of Afrika Bambaataa and the Zulu Nation and is known as the birthplace of hip-hop. It includes interviews with Afrika Bambaataa, GrandWizzard Theodore, Kool DJ Red Alert, and GrandMaster Caz. Narrator is the legendary DJ and producer The Original Jazzy Jay, who started playing in the streets of the Bronx under the guidance of Afrika Bambaataa. He's worked with Fat Joe, Brand Nubian, A Tribe Called Quest, and many others. Pretty dope, right? Availability: You gotta wait until the 16th of this month. Then you can get it at places like the MoMa Design Store, Tower Records, The Apartment, and other places Price: Around 20 bucks, but don't quote us if it's more

Veronique Vienne' New Book On Designer Chip Kidd
We've been a huge fan of Chip Kidd's book jacket designs since first seeing his work on Donna Tart's THE SECRET HISTORY in 1992 (a collaboration with Barbara de Wilde). Yale University Press' Monographics Books now gives Chip the full on star treatment he deserves with a well illustrated book that examines Kidd's design work and the context behind it. If you are a designer or artist, this will be a book that you will return to time and time again for inspiration.
