This past Summer, Sara and i were honored to be invited to the Tate Modern to give a talk on street art from a "world view" perspective. The room was packed and all-in-all we thought it went quite well.

This week the Tate Modern finally made available on iTunes not only our talk, but over 150 recordings (going back to 2006). There's some incredible recordings (more than 200 hours so far) including talks by such people as David Shringly, Gilbert and Geoerge, Wolfgang Tilman's and many others.

Unfortunately our talk is audio only, as the slides were not videotaped. But if you've never heard us give our slideshow, you might want to give it a listen. Ours is in the 2008 tab, entitled:

"Street Art Talks - Street Art Now: A World View"

Click here to be redirected to iTunes.

This week's Vitamin_F brings us a very special guest. DJ Singe and MC Verb from Soundlab. Soundlab was the original Friday night listening event, where you walked up 8 flights of stairs in a Chinatown warehouse to enter a busted up matrix of sound, sight, and sweat; all held together with duct tape and love. This wasn't a DJ party, this was computer geeks tweaking waveforms while jamming with tabla players. Each week different artists brought their best. It was where the "Illbient" scene of the 90's busted out. It was definitely what you needed on Friday. And so, Vitamin_F has to give a toast.
If you're not yet familiar with the Vitamin_F Podcast series, every Friday we put up an exclusive mix of music from a different artist from the Wooster Collective website. The Vitamin_F series is curated by Vinnie Ray

(Why are we putting it up on a Thursday and not a Friday? Because Sara and I are heading out to a flight to South America. Not sure we'll have internet access tomorrow)

Not too long ago our friend Vinnie Ray approached us with the idea of doing a series of music podcasts, called Vitamin_F, with each podcast featuring an exclusive mix of music from a different artist from the Wooster Collective website. We thought the idea was great and so for the last few weeks Vinnie has been working hard curating the Vitamin_F series and working with the artists to put the mixes together.

So without any further delay, we're excited to let you know that beginning this week, on each Friday we'll be puting up a new mix of music put together by a different artist from a different country in the world. To launch the series this week, Vinnie Ray has put together an amazing mix of cool tracks. In upcoming week's we'll be putting up mixes by a range of artists including Calma, Mudwig Dan, Pure Evil, and many more. Each mix will have an exclusive "cover" done by the artist.

So this week, Vitamin_F features our friend, and curator of Vitamin_F.... Vinnie Ray.

Today's Wooster podcast features an amazing group of artists including Swoon, Dan Witz, Martha Cooper, Skewville, Alex from the Monster Project, Michael DeFeo, Anera, Abe Lincoln, Jr, Alice Arnold, Vinnie Ray, and Ryan Watkin-Hughes.

The audio, sent to us by Michael DeFeo. is a recording from a terrific panel discussion that we participated in back in December called "Street Scene: Documenting Street Art" It was part of the Small Press Book Fair here in Manhattan. The moderator was Justin Armstrong, an anthropologist and artist from Canada.

It's a long podcast today, but it's really really informative and interesting.

You can download iPodder here:

The Wooster Podcasts will consist of interviews with contemporary artists from around the world as well as commentary and thoughts from us. The shows will be very relaxed, off the cuff - unscripted and unedited. As often as we can, we'll be recording interviews from gallery openings and events using our iPod and iTalk.

With the Wooster Podcasts, we'll be able to go deeper on a range of subjects that interest us. It will also give us more freedom to explore things with artists without being tied to the keyboard.

So, without any further delay, here's our first Wooster Podcast.
