Chincheta is an artist from Madrid, Spain. The stencils above are from a new project called "dream" ("sueña" in spanish...).
Chincheta writes:
This project covers three areas: stencils, stickers and posters.. all of them have been sticked and painted in the streets of madrid, granada and barcelona.. the first stage of the proyect is: returning to childhood..and that's why my stickers look so inocent and why they are attached to some of the poems i write, that express some of the feelings that we leave behind when we grow.. my stencisl in this first stage are made of, normally, four or five layers, and measure between 1 meter and 2 meters high..they are mainly made up pf photographs i take personally or i choose from my favorite photographers, showing children or images that inspire childhood.. the more important part of the proyect is not so much the image but the content, the "whole".. centering basicly on the text that goes with it. On my website i show my last works and some of my poems.

Alex recently spotted the intriguing stencil above on the streets of Venice, Italy. After a bit of research he realized that K-141 stands for the Kursk, the sunk Russian nuclear submarine. Anyone know anything more about this stencil and what compelled the artist to create it?

From Mariano: "the piece was a colaboration with carhartt in their stand in the urban art festival in gran canaria, canary islands.. were people like 123 klan or others paint a whole building in three days in a little town by the coastside. the piece was made for carhartt and a little shop they opened in las palmas... thats named kubrik thats why the characters are kubrik in different stages of its life.. the piece was intended to die after the urban festival event but was put in the street were the shop is and looks as its going to get its own life there... people have started tagging it and it looks as if its constantly in change..."

Fromi DROWN NBA comes another urinal spottingL
"Out here in southern California, there has been urinals popping up lately. The urinals are stencils of Marcel Duchamp's "Fountain". Here is a article on the orginal piece from the BBC:
Quote: "Duchamp's urinal tops art survey... A white gentlemen's urinal has been named the most influential modern art work of all time."

While we've personally never come across a stenciled urinal on the wall, it's seems that - like mustache tattoos - it's become a bit of a trend. This one is from Cins in Istanbul, Turkey
