The Cancerland Diaries of Farmer Bob —An Explanation

/>From Farmer Bob: “Last January I received a Kidney transplant. Things were
going well for about 2 months and then I started having health problems again. I
kept telling the medical staff that I felt like shit to which they responded
bypumping me full of antibiotics and pain killers. I finally had to be admitted
to the hospital and they told me I had Lymphoma. I had been in and out of the
hospital for the past 5 years and I guess there was quite a bit of hostility
built up. I had to endure another 6 months of chemotherapy. This set of drawings
came out during this time. I was usually in the hospital hooked up to a machine
that was pumping poison into my body. I am in remission now and am feeling
better than I have felt in years. I have been pushing out tons of new work,
however going through an episode such as this has made my work take on a more
personal, caustic trend, which I love.”
