Mr. Serious - The A’s to Our Q’s:
Wooster: How did you
get started in creating art for the street?
Mr. Serious:
After a few graffiti years I felt the urge to make stuff that
communicates more with the public. Also the easy ness of doing stickers and
posters is totally the opposite way than Graffiti. Got kind off tired of being a
anti-social undercover artist.
Wooster: Why so
serious?
Mr. Serious: Mr Serious is given to me by
my main Graffiti partner from the past. Becouse i am always seriously commited
to do stuff and do it well.
Wooster: What other
street artists do you most admire and why?
Mr. Serious:
In general I like art if it’s free and clean.
/>Wooster: What’s your favorite city, neighborhood, or block,
to post and/or to see street art?
Mr. Serious:
The Rotterdam central aria is cool because the war between the buffers and the
artists is a nice thing to play with. I also like it when I see a sticker from
someone in a little village in the middle of nowhere. Than it’s the territorial
behavour that rocks.
Wooster: What inspires you now?
Mr. Serious: Life, experiences in weird places and
thinking about ideas with some beers in my backpack.
/>Wooster: What are you currently working on? Can you give us a sneak
peek?
Mr. Serious: Right now I am getting ready to
paint 2 walls but they won’t be finished until April. I have done a new stencil
with a baby in his buggy racing the streets. This was fun to put up becouse the
stencil is way to big to walk around with in a undercover way. Creating some
seriously hectic situations.
