What I Did On My Summer Vacation… by Swoon

“so summer
vacation huh, well mine is still going, i started off the summer by visiting my
family in florida, this consited of taking my longboard out on the midget
atlantic ocean waves (just my size) burning furniture and breaking lightbulbs
with my little brothers, and general bonding with the rest of the family. then
off to germany for the backjumps show, where i was kid sister this time, not
only the only female street artist in the show but the newest edition by far. at
four years and counting i am total youngblood next to banksy, sheppard fairey,
wk and the rest of the folks all with at least 10 years under there belts, but
it’s been super fun and i played pesky little sister to a tee spying on them
while they set up thier rooms and asking tons of advice about how they have
managed to translate such an errant passion into some way to support themselves
and travel the world. i set up the documentation of the indivisible cities
exchange that i have been organizing since march—thanks due to all of you who
participated and were represented in the show. a few thousand people came to the
opening. not one for crowds i got the hell out of there, but the summer
continues. i got to collaborate with pips
lab
last night (a team of amazing dutch artists and inventors), along with
my friends akim and zast who are two of the most innovative writers in berlin as
well as point from prague. this week i’ll be giving lectures and workshops and
walking tours all as a part of the show, then i think i’m gonna hitch a ride to
prague and be back in new york by the end of september”
