Street Art Animations
Over
the last couple of months we’ve had numerous conversations with artists who work
on the street, and the topic of animation seems to keep coming up. For a lot of
artists, animating their characters and incorporating the street into the
“canvas” is the next big challenge.
In the last few days we’ve
highlighted a few examples of early experiments in “street art animation”
including Pure Evil’s “Evilmatosis” and I
Woz Ere.
Today Boing
Boing posted a link to a nice little
href="http://www.vkn.lv/index.php?parent=525">animation in which a stencil
robot walks through the city as photographs of the artists’ work on powerboxes,
walls, and lamposts play out in sequence. It’s very clever and very
effective.
We get asked a lot about the “future” of street art and
where it’s headed. Based on what we’ve seen, one place is clearly animation.
