86 - The A’s to Our Q’s:

Wooster: How did you get started
in creating art for the street?

86: About two years,
I started with print stickers, then, right away, i decided to use my experience
on serigraphic t-shirts to start making posters for the streets. I always like
russian construtivism and soviet war poster, so, i decided to use this
contrutivist style to create serigraph poster arts with positive messages. By
the way, the influence of russian contrutivism was always on my graphic artist
life.

Wooster: What other street artists do you
most admire and why?

86: I like too much the works
of my friend CALMA, from Sao Paulo (Brazil), because he has a similar effort to
introduce urban intervention culture here in Brazil; Buffy Monster; Shepard
Fairey; and LUNA, from Sweden, that for me is the main name in that country. I
know his preocupation on making a more serious thing for our scene.

/>Wooster: What’s your favorite city, neighborhood, or block,
to post and/or to see street art?

86: Rio de
Janeiro. Special plans for this place.

Wooster:
What inspires you now?

86: The aesthetical
of the soviet war posters; Shepard Fairey arts; and my homeland.

/>Wooster: What are you currently working on?  Can you give us
a sneak peek?

86: Well, first a promo: some of my
arts will be in an alternative art exposition in Lublin, Polland from December
16th until January (more info soon at href="http://www.ack.lublin.pl">www.ack.lublin.pl). And next year, on the
first quarter, will occurs a new expo of my posters and stickers here in Rio de
Janeiro, probably a split with CALMA. At this moment i’m making new serigraphy
poster arts, always inspired by the russian construtivism and, with its, i will
keep taking protests and nice messages to the world. At the same time, i’m
concentrating efforts to spread the serigraphy street poster art as a real form
of art. I will start to do talks about urban intervention. There are many
important things and concepts behind of all of this. Most important than simply
paste papers. That’s it.
