New York based artist/culture jammer href="http://www.publicadcampaign.com/splash.html">Jordan Seiler will be
hitting the streets of Manhattan again next week, replacing advertisments with
his own art pieces which he did in collaboration with href="http://www.publicadcampaign.com/splash.html">Stephanie Diamond.  If
you want to see Jordan in action, the date and location is included in the
graphic above.

Here’s Jordan’s statement about the project:
/>
“The democratic invention finds its legitimacy in the public environment
and the lack of authority which that space represents. It is the pedestal of
engagement and the breeding ground for dissent. In the most democratic sense it
is where we stake our claim as members of society, at once making the rules, and
putting the very concept of rule at risk. To fight for (in) the public space is
to struggle for the image of yourself. The compiling of each of our fights being
the outcome of modern life, the definition of our democratic society. When the
authority of no authority becomes our fight, we no longer live in a democracy,
rather an extension of a private space which has overtaken the only democracy we
have. .. Jordan Seiler”
