Paris Pochoirs

The original inspiration for ‘Stencil Graffiti’ -
the book, was Paris. This was where stencil graffiti art really flowered from
the early 80s onwards. Today it is still loved and appreciated with artists old
and new taking it forward.

An exhibition of Paris’s finest
Stencilists just came to an end on Oct 3rd. For all those who missed the event
which took place at the Free Electron Squat, 59 rue de Rivoli - they should
check out Uncle Tom’s website

/>The show included work from the Paris Old school and New wave of pochoir
artists in a tribute to the late Le Bateleur - the legendary Paris Stencilist
who was also famously strongly involved with the Paris squat movement.

/>Artists involved: Le Bateleur, Blek, Mesnager, Mosko, Hao, CAD, Poch,
Lazlo, Sline, Nice Art, Super Sapin, Pocheur 4, La Sorciere, Artiste ouvrier,
YZ/Open Your Eyes, Ivan le Terrible, Spliff Gachette, Epsylon Point & L’Atlas
pour la scenographie

Most excellent pictures borrowed from the Uncle
Tom site - note Blek in So Fuzzy Crew T Shirt!
