mouffiko - The A’s to Our Q’s:

Wooster: How did you get started
in creating art for the street?

mouffiko: Started
with stickers & posters during the buildup for Iraq War II, then made the
natural transition to putting up my art, too. It seems the street is one ofthe
last places for uncorrupted communication, because it’s *free* and it allows
everyone in. Art doesn’t just belong in galleries and on the walls and websites
of people who can afford it. Especially now, art belongs on the street.

/>Wooster: What other street artists do you most admire and
why?

mouffiko: Though he might not meet a strict
definition - href="http://www.artcyclopedia.com/artists/goldsworthy_andy.html">Andy
Goldsworthy
, who is a wizard with place and time and has a crazysilly
imagination. He put giant snowballs on the sidewalks of london in summertime,
with sticks and dirt hidden inside. Also href="http://www.banksy.co.uk/">Banksy, for humor and guts, and href="http://www.wearechangeagent.com/swoon/">Swoon, because one piece
suprised me in a doorway at 4am…

Wooster: What’s
your favorite city, neighborhood, or block, to post and/or to see street art?

mouffiko: Locally it’s Allson/Brighton, where more
artists are getting up every day.

Wooster: What
inspires you now?

mouffiko: Discovering that there
is a vast group of people across the world to make art new and relevant and
available. Also coffee, and whoever’s putting up the tiny elephants in my
neighborhood.

Wooster: What are you currently
working on?  Can you give us a sneak peek?:

mouffiko:
If I told you, I wouldn’t need to get off my butt and do it…
