Iceland Street Art - Profile: Gunni

Having speant an long weekend in Reykjavik back
in 2001, we were well aware of the terrific stencil scene in Iceland. One of the
things that we loved about Tristan Manco’s posts the other week was that he
highlighted the street art of Iceland (something that we hadn’t done yet on the
Wooster site).  One of the artists who’s been hitting the streets there is
Gunnar “Gunni” Thorvaldsson.  Here’s some info:

get started in creating art for the street?

Gunni:
I didn’t like the small amount and little variety in stencils in Reykjavik.

Gunni: Banksy for his boldness, cleverness
and semi-political messages.

favorite city, neighborhood, or block, to post and/or to see street art?
