“Give ‘Em Props!”

/>Recently we approached a group of artists, many who you’ve seen featured
on the Wooster site before, and asked them to choose that one painting, sticker,
stencil, sculpture, or piece of architecture that truly inspires them in their
daily work. And, for that piece, what is it about it that brought them in? Was
it the color, the lines, the crazy figure, the movement, the composition…?

Today’s artist is one of our favorites, "http://www.adamneate.co.uk/">Adam Neate.

“Give ‘Em Props!”—Daze by Adam Neate

“What one artist or
image has inspired me the most in my daily work? Wow!! what a difficult
question. After much deliberation I narrowed it down between Picasso for his
shear energy, and New York Graffiti legend “DAZE”. I decided “DAZE.” I respect
anyone who can truly paint from the soul or give soul to an image. Be it a train
painted in 1975, or a sketch done in gouache. A natural artist will create
whatever and whenever. This is one of my favourite DAZE paintings. He’s truly
captured that feeling of imagination coming from a darkness. My words can not
even begin to describe how amazing this man is. His community projects with kids
are a important lesson to us all.”
