Ronzo - The A’s to Our Q’s:
Wooster: How did you get started in
creating art for the street?
Ronzo: Back than I was sitting at
a bus stop once. no bus was coming. I was bored of waiting. so I started drawing
with a tiny little pen on the bench, the walls, the
windows… it took of
from then I think. Now I ?m not taking the bus anymore and I got bigger pens!
was that the question, eeehh?! Got inspired by “The Royal Male” stickers and
London artists in 2000. been doing this posters & stickers since about a year
Wooster: What other street artists do you most admire
Ronzo: I love “Low Wage Crew”, “Paze” & “Flin” from
the “Amigo Crew”, “Mr. Hero”, “The
London Police”, “D?Face”, “Jake”, “Lady Blush”... all dope artist out there!
Wooster: What’s your favorite city, neighborhood, or
block, to post and/or to see street art?
Ronzo: East London
looks hot, the area where I live. New York, East Village, Brooklyn is beautiful
of course. Sau Paolo is wicked. Tokyo I imagine. Basically any wall/streetcorner
with a bit of a “grip” will do. anywhere in the world. I like spots where nobody
bothers cleaning. and you can see a whole history, different layers of posters,
Wooster: What inspires you now?
/>Ronzo:Peter Jackson ?s “Meet the Feebles”. hand drawn commercial signs
from south America, Africa and London. people on the street, big cities,
traveling, the movie soundtrack of “blade runner”. all that trashy monster stuff
Wooster: What are you currently working on? Can
you give us a sneak peek?
Ronzo:right now: I want to
contribute some stuff for pmh?s “finders keepers” this Friday. I picked up some
tasty rubbish from the street. maybe I can turn it into a transformer style
robot tonight…or an alien space ship?! in the future: put more shit up, direct
a porn movie, take over the world!
