Chicago | March 19th | New works by Juan Angel Chavez and Christopher Tavares Silva

Higher Gallery regretfully announces the departure of a fabulous show of new works by Juan Angel Chavez and Christopher Tavares Silva. Please join us for a reception on Friday, March 19th from 7-11pm.
Both artists work in found object construction- these works take the form of sculptural lightboxes to painted industrial constructions and a variety of shades in between. Chavez has been claiming unused abandoned urban space to create public art projects since 1996. Silva’s work deals with the relationship of people to themselves, to others, and to their environment. Both artists have recently been individually awarded CTA grants to do mosaics on separate Blue Line stops.
