“I have recently put together a little piece of
artwork that has taken the form of an 8.5” x 11” archival quality inkjet print
on matte heavyweight paper, in a limited edition of 50 (signed & numbered on
the back). I’m selling these for $55 which also includes shipping. Most of the
proceeds from this print will go toward the costs of materials for an ambitious
collaborative installation show which is currently in the works:

“Tragic Beauty”
Juan Chavez, Mike Genovese, Cody Hudson and
Chris Silva.
March 4 - March 27, 2005
Open End Gallery
2000 W.
Fulton *310
Chicago, IL. 60612
(312)738-2140

This is
probably the most ambitious show that any of us has endeavored to put together.
We have commited to making the most of our limited resources in order to create
a beautiful and hopefully inspirational space within this very large gallery.
When this show comes down it will continue in a sense, as most of the work will
then be installed in various public locations throughout the city of Chicago.
Time has flown by since we originally conceived of this show, and our busy
schedules and/or flaky artistic minds have contributed to the fact that we have
procured minimal funding for this show and are going to be coming out of our
rather shallow pockets in order to make this show happen. Sorry, but that CTA
mosaic commission money of mine is running out quickly.

So yeah, I
came up with this limited edition print idea after realizing that my new printer
does archival quality prints. Additionally, in acknowledgment of the recent
tragedy overseas, and perhaps to ease my guilt for trying to raise money for
some dumb art project at this time, I have decided to give $500 of the money
raised by this print to a reputable tsunami relief fund. I welcome any
recommendations regarding which one I should donate to. If the image speaks to
you and you feel like you can help us out, we’d really appreciate it.

Thank you so much for your time,
and I hope everyone’s having great new year.
