Any artist from
Eindhoven, Holland can’t be all that bad. And any artist who starts his email to
us like this, you can’t help but love:

“As you might know people
learn every day.. why i tell you this?! i recently - discovered- your wooster
collective site.. isn’t that something huh?! So i thought why not letting you
know what i do here.. in holland so to say. Well i didn’t have an answer to
that either.. so here you go. Recently i had nothing to do and put all the
pictures left on my computer on the internet. (man i talk i too much)”

And so our love affair with Ckoe
began.  We dug his stuff.  And he was kind enough to answer our five
questions:

Wooster: How did you get started in creating art
and stickers for the street?

ckoe: I guess it’s a search for a
canvas. It’s pretty much a stage that’s available for everyone. The
stickers/streetwork of others crossed my way. I wanted to do something different
then the regular sticker, but still being a sticker. So i came up with the
MDF/wood I work on now. Let’s say it was a reaction on the sticker scene/stuff
as it was and is today. They make a sticker in an amount of say 10- 1000. I
wanted my stickers to be originals, a small painting/ illustration in the
streets of Eindhoven because it’s a pretty dull place.

Wooster:
What originally inspired you to do the different characters?

/>ckoe: I want to create unique pieces, i don’t have anything with the
printed stickers. For me it’s no fun seeing or sticking all the same stickers. I
like drawing and doing different stuff, i get bored pretty fast. I think it’s
great to go and look for all the different pieces like space invader. I try to
make my stuff as pretty as possible and don’t overdo it.. i try at least..
/>
Wooster: What other street artists do you most admire and
why?

ckoe: Influenza, for being a real disease in the streets
in the world. He does some great stuff i think. Erosie for his exhalent style
and great bikes he draws. Of course OBEY
and i like Dave’s work. The London
Police
for being one of the greatest among all, the Lads are great, and also
with these guys is that every drawing is one of it’s own, i really think that’s
true stuff.

Wooster: What’s your favorite city, neighborhood,
or block, to post and/or to see street art?

ckoe: I have to
say up till now i mostly did my hometown Eindhoven, so that’s for now my fav
city because it needs it.. it needs anything actually.. (hehe). Rotterdam,
Amsterdam and the rest of the world also need some work i guess. I’ll be on tour
some time.. Best place to see stuff has to be either Rotterdam or Eindhoven. The
last one has been buffed recently..

Wooster:  What
inspires you now?

ckoe: My pen. My mind.

BONUS
QUESTION: What are you currently working on? Can you give us a sneak peak?:
/>
ckoe: I have some plans actually. At most construction sites you
have these fences,  i’m going to do something with that. Also i want to look
whether i can do
something with lights, but that’s only in a first stage..
Other than that i always work on animations, see "http://www.ckoe.net">www.ckoe.net for that.
