"I actually work in several different spaces but I'll just stick to two here. The first picture is of the bench where I assemble the classic small stikman. The second photo is of my outside painting area where I do all of my painting. I really love working outside with a sky above me. That light gives me a real sense of how pieces will look installed. Of note is the hollow core doors I paint on. You can find them for free in dumpsters and they are very lightweight for easy carrying. They also constantly evolve as paintings in their own right. I sometime jigsaw stikmen out of the painted doors and attach them to buildings" peace and love stikman

"its small and cosy and in a building of glorious doom that will be demolished in a year so its nice and rugged and cheap.....
my favorite thing about it is that it gets lots of sunlight.. thats the most important thing for me...
and also i like to work in a studio that feels like a bedroom... personal... relaxed... as one spends more time in the studio then one does at home...
old tapes, magic charms, books, magazines, candles, posters and random thoughts scribbled down on tables are all a must for a place of ideas and pictures....
one should never feel that one is at 'work' ... never keep to a routine... kill it on deadlines and take days off unexpectedly...
music is always in the room and death is always the advisor....."... Faith47

This is lovely. Inspired by Adam Neate's wonderful paintings which he gives away for free in London by leaving them out on the street for people to find and take home, a primary school teacher in Holland had his entire class create free art for th street.
The note that Adam received is below. You can see all of the work by clicking here. (We particularly loved the penguin above)
Hello mister Adam Neate!Your work has greatly inspired us. That's why we decided to create an
art project for primary school in holland! Last week the kids made paintings
and we used the street as a gallery. They also wrote a letter to the people
on the street, which can only be read on the internet. We hope you will
check it out (you can also leave a message)! Unfortunately it is in Dutch,
except for the paintings!bye bye! Annemarie and Nienke

Sometimes things need to have a second look. When Kelsey Brookes sent us the photo above back in March we glossed over it too quickly. Cleaning out our inbox this morning we realized just how cool it is. The energy in the piece is amazing. We love when artists put up hand painted, one of a kind work on the streets. Reminds us of the dedication of Armsrock in Bremen, Germany.
Kelsey, who lives in San Diego, has had an incredible year. Be sure to check out his website.
