London | March 3 | KOA@55DSL

KOA@55DSL Store in London
10.03.05

Supported by 55DSL, KOA will be exhibiting and creating and in store installation for the 55DSL Newburgh Street store on 10th of March (launch event) til Mid April

Born and based in Lille –France Olivier Cramm PKA as Koa (or Koadz) takes his inspiration and artistic direction from ‘My sick brain’. His attraction to Toys, Graphic Design, Kaiju Eiga films, Manga and illustration is clearly evident.

A recent graphic design student after many years of self-educating and his love of graffiti, led to work in the renowned French agency NOCOPY broadening his artistic remit into 2Danimation and graphic design. It was during this period that his personal website www.koadzn.com was born as was the French portal YGF. YGF provided a forum for like-minded artists and friends who did not have a website (Scien, Stenkat, Mainframe) consequently creating a web community where artists could collaborate together (El Poucha Libre project, Versus project of Mainframe).

KOA describes his work as ‘a cure’. His contrasting style is evident from styling cute items with symbols, his blatant love of color and his penchant for the darker side. Koa’s fascination of Kaiju Eiji films and the old Horror or Fantastic films is unmistakable.

KOA current project is the freelance agency We Do Dat www.wedodatdesign.com conceived by Koa and 3 graphic designers Skwak (creator of the Koogais dolls soon on Beautyfull Decay), Tr8n (the video killa) and Dam (Graphic designer/spray artist). His obsession for Neo Toys, stems from his love of Michael Lau's work “he opened the door for a new style in graffiti-urban art” which has led to his fascination with plush toys.

This year Koa will be launching 4 new concepts in plush toys plus series 3 of the Nightmare Hunter coupled with exhibitions throughout Europe showcasing his paint and toy creations. A limited amount of plush toys including the nightmare hunter design will be available to buy through the 55DSL store. Koa exhibition theme is in development but includes 15 canvas in different sizes, 12 plushtoys and addition artwork.

“STILL CREATE OR DIE”.
