Covivant Gallery is proud to present: Pound and a Bear Hug: A 2-person exhibition of paintings, prints and installations by Bask and Tes One. The exhibition opens with a reception on the evening of February 5th with the artists in attendance, and will continue through February 25th.

”Pound and a Bear Hug” is a carefully intersecting body of work that is both autobiographical in meaning and collective in purpose. Please join the artists at the opening reception on February 5th, 7pm until 11pm. Live music will be provided by DJs Research and T. the Beat Specialist, including a special live performance by Philly-based hip-hop group, Word Association.

Originally ELik was scheduled to a show at some swanky gallery in williamsburg.
The gallery owner got a complaint from a neighboring store front about Elik's recent PUBLIC APPLICATION. So the Gallery immediately canceled Elik's Show and we after hearing this story we immediately had to have him...who else but skewville...

ELIK: unreleased work

He went to Wormtown, Massachusetts and rescued 20 paintings from his
uncle's basement. these paintings were made in Brooklyn in 2000 and have
never been shown before in their entirety. this is elik's first real solo
show. come out, show some love and have a drink. holla...

What?

This is an open call for worldwide artist participation. I'm creating a platform to showcase the works of the best urban artists currently existing. Going with the idea of Random von Nothaus of Buff Monster that themed shows are starting to feel played out, we have only named it "Metal Pig". The rest is up to you to interpret. There is purposely no guideline or recommended medium. Hopefully this will create some interesting diversity.

When?

The show is set to coincide with the South by Southwest Festival March 17 - 21, 2005

The main goal is fun! We will have Underground Hip-Hop, Old School Punk and of course Metal spinning and beer! We still need DJ’s to sign up for slots. I'm trying to get my personal heroes to be part of the show.
