Los Angles | December 13th | UNCOVERED - Freddi C and Logan Hicks - New Paintings and Works in Progress Installation

Logan Hicks

Logan acts as a visual archeologist, revealing the layers of time and history that surround us. In "UNCOVERED" His multilayered stencil works explore the interaction between man and their fabrications. Uncovered investigates the details of architecture such as fences, fire escapes, and stairs.

Works within 'Uncovered' walk a fine line between creative license, and technical skill. Logans process is the hallmark of obsession. His intricate hand cut stencils have advanced the medium of stencils. By meticulously hand cutting each layer, spraying on top of one another, and building the colors up, his images emerge from the sprayed paint to an elegant work of art.

Several large scale pieces will be exhibited Uncovered. With hundreds of hours to create each piece, this body of work will be one of the most comprehensive exhibits to date.

Freddi C.

There is an exciting young culture today a culture driven by a soundtrack of beats and colored by the art of the streets. With "Uncovered" Freddi C explores the graphic dynamic of an underground scene exploding all around us.

Coming of age during the underground acid-house days of England in the late 80's, her love for electronic music led her to an appreciation of the whole DJ culture. She pays homage to this culture by taking inspiration for her paintings from its club flyers, vinyl record sleeves to that of the street graffiti, fashion, and computer graphics. Studying art in England before moving to New York City and eventually landing in LA, Freddi has had her art shown all over the world. Recent work includes numerous magazine illustrations, website design, CD cover art, T-shirt design, club flyer graphics, live paintings at electronic music shows and numerous private commissions for collectors. Commissions that include designing paintings for: offices, record label executives, other artists, and collectors of underground art, as well as having her paintings used in two feature length films shot in LA
