WoosterCollective.com Has Its First Birthday
Wow, how times fly when you’re havin’ fun. We
just realized that it was exactly a year ago this week (yesterday to be
specific) that we first launched the Wooster Collective weblog. Now, a year and
a day later, we sit here still having no agenda, no goals, no real objective
other than to showcase great art and artists who’s work we dig and admire. A
year ago we thought it would be cool if we set up a small webpage to try to
document the diversity of amazing art that we were seeing out there in cities
all over the world. To us, street art is a lot like wine. It’s not meant to
last forever. It’s meant to be enjoyed and then disposed of. So sites like
Wooster and others are out there to document the scene before it disappears. The
best thing about doing the Wooster site is that it’s not a business and has
nothing to do with making money. Thankfully, our day jobs cover that. Our only
agenda, if there is one, is to truly celebrate what to many is an under
appreciated art movement.
So as the site turns 1 year old this
week, a sincere “thanks!” needs to go out to all the artists who sent us
amazing stuff this year…. and to Ekosystem and Stickernation for setting the
bar so high.
Here’s the first post we did a year ago, a snap of a
sticker for a series that we did one cold weekend which ended up in the Stick
‘Em Up book:
