For the last couple of weeks we’ve been
jotting down notes and ideas for something that we’re calling “Wooster Field
Trips.” Quite simply, the idea is - “Field trips for adults”.

Our
goal with “Wooster Field Trips” is to recapture how much fun it was when we were
kids in grade school and as a group we would go to interesting places where we
were able to get a private tour and discussion… an insiders look.

/>The way the field trips would work is that a group of 20 - 30 people would
sign-up via the Wooster site and we would all meet up as a group for a private
discussion with an interesting artist, museum curator, etc. The field trips
would give fans of the Woost a private view of a series of high-profile art
openings and shows. We would share a few beers beforehand (and/or after), be
able to talk to the artists about the work, the show, etc.

Some
examples of Wooster Field Trips that we’re working on include trips to meeet
Christo and Jean-Claude at The Gates exhibition in Central Park, perhaps meeting
the curators at both the Folk Art Museums and MOMA, etc.

While we’re
not ready to formally launch the Wooster Field Trips program yet, we did see on
our calendar that on January 28th the Outsider Art Fair returns to New York and
the Puck Building.

For the last seven years, we’ve religiously
attended the Outsider Art Fair on the first Saturday. This year it’s Saturday
January 29th.

So as we continue to brainstorm our ideas on how best
to launch “Wooster Field Trips,” we thought it would be cool to see if a group
of people (you!) wanted to meet up first for breakfast (basically bagels,
donuts,  juice and stuff like that) on Saturday January 29th at 10am and then
head over to the Fair together at 11. Sara and I are massive fans of Outsider
Art and know most of the galleries and artists that will be at the Fair.
/>
Unfortunately the admission to the Fair is $15. Not much we can do about
that. If you’d like to meet up at our flat in Soho for bagels and then head over
to the Fair on the 29th, let us know. It’s a great way to meet other art lovers
and artists who are living in New York.

Cheers,  M&S
