What’s Currently Inspiring You?... Part III
From Mackplakt:

“The artist who inspires me most lately is Christopher
Wool. I got to know his work through his work together with Harmony Korine in
wich he made hunderds of different photocopies of the same images Korine took.
He is also known for his work with b/w big stencilled provocative sentences. But
the work he makes I like most are his big silkscreened, spraypainted pannels.
The funny thing is that I also made these kind of silk screened compositions
with different pattern-designs before I knew about him. First I was a little
dissapointed that I found out someone did the same kind of work visually, but it
didn’t stop me from going further in this direction beacause my intentions are
different. Another thing I like is his own photography, he makes these
nightshots with flash, normally I don’t like the use of a flash but somehow he
uses it in a right way. The things he makes photos from are the same objects I
make pictures from. So it was really strange finding out about his work for me.
Three months ago there was an expo of his work a few streets away from my house
and forgot to go to the opening, but I visited it the day afterwards.”...

/>From Adam Neate:
“what’s currently inspiring me?
very difficult question. so i made a list of stuff.
first mention
goes to Tinho
/>
/>
he was one of the first to introduce graffiti to Brasil
way back with the likes of Os Gemeos and Binho. Weather it’s in a sketch book or
on an 8ft wall his work bleeds soul. I consider myself privilaged to be his
Brother-in-law.
second shout goes to
href="http://www.kozyndan.com/main.html">Kozy and Dan. check out their
website and you will see why.
next on my list is
href="http://www.presstube.com/">Presstube. I urge you to look at every
single animation and be blown away by the creative talent.
fourth is
a tie between the amazing photos in
href="http://www.foundmagazine.com/">Found Magazine
src="http://www.woostercollective.com/images/roadsidepicnic.jpg" />
/>
...and the humour of
href="http://www.b3ta.com/">http://www.b3ta.com/
Also a current
project I am involved with. Which will involve
href="http://www.movingunits.co.uk/">illegally dumping large concrete objects
around the streets of london. I will be working alongside artist Bobby Puleo
who happens to be my final choice for you to check out. He collects things he
finds on the streets and makes amazing works of art from them. kinda like the
complete opposite to what i do but better. I present to you

From Craig Metzger:
“Lately
I’ve been really inspired by my trip to Jamaica. I stayed in a beautiful
Fishermans village away from all the tourist crap. At first when I was headed to
Jamaica I was a bit skeptical cause you here of all these horror stories of
people being robbed and attacked. Luckily my experience was the total opposite.
The people were super nice, the beaches amazingly beautiful and the over all
relaxed feeling was amazing. I never wanted to leave. I was considering opening
up a fruit stand and giving up the life I have here, it was that amazing.
/>
/>
In terms of art I have to say I was going into a slump
but after being in Jamaica I got really inspired and created all this work. I’ve
been focusing more of my time lately on
href="http://www.theinstantwinner.com/">Instant Winner and other freelance
work to keep food on the table.”...
