What I Did On My Summer Vacation… by Dan Witz
” this summer was
good art-wise. Slow—I’m still adjustin’ to livin’ out here in Williamsburg,
sussin’ out my new environment, feelin’ the new palette and rhythms and all, but
I’ve managed to get some stuff up I’m happy with. Of course, as usual with me,
the best is yet to come—it’s always the next big idea or image with me, the
thing I’m about to do next is all I really care about. Whatever’s finished
immeadiately becomes prologue. The lonesome boat’s a sticker with an airbrushed
shadow. The fighter bombers are just stickers.”
As you probably know,
we’re massive fans of Dan’s work. He’s in a league of his own. We couldn’t be
happier to learn that Dan is mounting a show next week at the DFN Gallery. It
opens on September 8th. Here’s an image from the show:
