Watchin’ DVDs on A Snowy Saturday Afternoon—Dithers

/>It’s been snowing like crazy here in New York since yesterday morning, so
rather than brave the elements outside, yesterday we decided to chill out at
home and catch up on reading some mags and checking out a bunch of new DVD’s.
One of the DVDs that we dug the most was Dithers, a double-
sided disc that was just put out by FIFTY24SF and href="http://www.upperplayground.com">Upper Playground in San Fran.  The
director, Reid van Renesse, pulls off some amazing interviews with a ton of
artists, photographers, and designers including Andy Howell, Bigfoot, David
Kinsey, Sam Flores, Jeremy Fish. Shepard Fairey, Kevin Lyons, Bryan Flynn, Joe
Jackson, and David Choe. (The interviews with David Choe, Ricky Powell and Joe
Jackson are worth the price of the disc alone - which we think is around $30
bucks)  That may seem like a lot of cash for a DVD, but the disc includes a shit
load of interviews in the artist’s studios while they’re working and then out on
the street as they’re putting stuff up.  If you’re just gettin’ into the scene,
then definatelty check Dithers out.  There’s a ton of great magazines out there
that cover graf and street art, but nothing compares to it in terms of giving
you an insider’s look into the scene.  The disc will inspire you to get out the
and start doing shit.  Don’t forget to check out Albert Reyes’ water drawings
(done with his mouth). They will blow your mind.

Some of our favorte
lines from the DVD:

“I would have written Sasquatch but that’s too
many fucking letters…. Bigfoot’s shorter”—Bigfoot.

“The bottom
line is question everything”—Shepard Fairey
