We love stories like this….
So last week we mentioned
that the Chelsea Market (a major New York tourist area here in New York)
censored a piece of artwork called “Bush Monkeys” from a show the Animal
Magazine has curated and promoted. The entire exhibit was removed from the
building. Immediately after the show was shut down, Bucky and the Animal crew
went searching for another gallery to feature the work.
So where is
Chris Savido’s “Bush Monkeys piece now? Check this out….

/>Starting today over 400,000 Manhattan commuters a day will see the painting on
a New York City Jumbotron above New York’s Holland tunnel. The image will be on
view for the next month.
In addition, Animal and Savido announced
that they will auction the piece to help provide body armor for troops in Iraq
and arts scholarships to disadvantaged youth back home.
ANIMAL plans
to offer the painting for auction on EBAY. The title of the auction on EBAY is
“CENSORED ANIMAL SAVIDO BUSH MONKEYS PAINTING AUCTION.” An extended mission
statement, including details about the auction structure and administration, is
available on Animal’s website.
