Celphone, piece of paper with remembers and a spot of ink

to breathe, to eat… to sleep..

Wooster: How did you get
started in creating art for the street?

Gustavo
Gripe:
I?m skateboarder since I walk, so I?m involved in street
things… but i lived in small city, and anybody to paint graffiti. My
inspirations are the skateparks in the skateboards magz that i saw.. After the
start i get contacts, meet writers and get info about graffiti/street art. Maybe
the real begin are yet in tables of school…

Wooster:
Why chairs?

Gustavo Gripe: All ask this.
Havent “why”. I painted one and liked. Peoples in the street identify with
chairs, maybe for identify with the chairs. Perhaps for being an express object
that the position of a person. The cool chair for the director and the fucked
chair for the worker.

Wooster: What other street
artists do you most admire and why?

Gustavo Gripe:
Twist. He was here in Brazil in 80?s, and influenced the beginning of graffiti
here. Yours tags and characters are very cool. I have a Twist sticker and I keep
very well. I admire the Shepard Farey and I find that not necessary to say
reason. Dave Kinsey, because typographic things, OsGemeos for the original style
and Mr. Andre for the simplicity.

Wooster: What’s
your favorite city, neighborhood, or block, to post and/or to see street art?

Gustavo Gripe: That i know, Sao Paulo. But i believe
the greats citys ate London and Paris. In end of year i want to go Europe and to
know.

Wooster: What inspires you now?

/>Gustavo Gripe: The people who I do not know and that they
know my street work. 

Wooster: What are you
currently working on?  Can you give us a sneak peek?

Gustavo
Gripe:
I?m organizing a together collective exposition with two artists
friends. Mateus and Leopoldo. Together of this I am taking a company of clothes
(www.largado.com.br) and intend to publish a store on-line in briefing.
