/>“The Schmoozes are an ongoing investigation of the relationship between art
and the public, and the thin line between high and low art. My first inspiration
was to take my art out of the box, out of the studio, galleries, museums, and to
bring art to the street and the street to art, for anyone to see and interact.
The Schmoozes are a mixture of East and West, an Eastern movement and
composition made of Western materials and mass production (eventually there will
be 10,000 of them). The master plan is to travel with the Schmoozes all over the
world and to combine the mass media in this project. My next stop is London in
September and then Israel in December. The fact that the Schmoozes travel around
the world brings out the social and cultural differences in relation to the
Schmoozes installation. In New York I learned that all the public spaces are not
so public, you actually need a permit to everything, and there’s always some
authority figure to remind you. But the rewarding aspect of this project is the
people’s reactions. I consider the Schmoozes as a 3D graffiti guerilla
installation art. Today, Tuesday 13th of July, I will be installing the
Schmoozes in Union Square from 10 PM to Midnight, you’re more than welcome to
