Marty Spellerberg’s mag, Half Empty.
Half Empty’s been on the web since 1998, but for the first time they’re going
postal and doing a print run. The whole mag, which is printed on newspaper
stock, is really great. We especially liked two articles (1) “Art In Retail” in
which Marty interviews Sebastien Agneeseens, the curator from Diesel Denim
Gallery in New York, and Jeremy Bailey, the curator of Nike Presto Showroom in
Toronto. Bailey’s so candid with his comments that you feel like you’re having
your fifth beer with the guy at the local pub (which for us would be either
Fanelli’s or the Spring Street Lounge). The other piece that we loved, was a
series of drawings by Jon Burgerman
in which he illustrates Diesel’s Spring/Summer 2003 Collection. Great stuff.
Check out Half Empty on the web and
href= "http://www.halfempty.com/subscriptions/">subscribe. We are. It’s
well worth it. This is the type of magazine that should be supported. We want
more printed issues and it’s not gonna happen unless people subscribe.
