THE ESSENTIALS #8 - Silencio’s Things to peep in Wonderful Copenhagen,
Silencio’s Things to Peep in Wonderful Copenhagen, Denmark
Copenhagen is not the largest capital in the
world, actually the center resembles a big gathering of overgrown puppet houses.
A quick stroll around the center is nice, but the real fun is in the surrounding
boroughs only a stone’s throw away.
Here goes some “do not miss
that” sightings:
"http://www.woostercollective.com/images/silencio1.jpg" align="left"
width="200">1. Sydhavnen (South Harbour) Hall of Fame. Located
nearby Dybbolsbro station and the mall “Fisketorvet” You’ll find the biggest,
and everchanging, collection of graff from old skool to the post new skool. It’s
actually illegal to paint there, but the cops never come around, and you’ll
probably bump into some locals or people from out of town painting there any
time of day. A dope spot for summer hanging with the chance of taking a swim in
the harbour.
2. Go to the parts of CPH called
“Vesterbro” (West Bridge) and “Norrebro” (North Bridge) to
drink, shop, chill, peep street art and just to raise hell. It’s where the shit
goes down and where you get to know the Copenhaniacs. In Vesterbro check the V1
gallery located Absalonsgade. Open the last days of the week, sporting some rad
shows with different street artists from around the world. Also check the dope
and brand new “Copenhagen Skate Park” at Enghavevej, Copeland store at
Viktoriagade, Vega at Enghavevej (concerts and clubbing). In Norrebro drop by Le
Fix in Guldbergsgade, all of Elmegade for food and stuff and rock out at some
friends wednesdayclub called Midweekbrakes at Rust Bar, dope music and art on
the walls by young danish artists.
3. Christiania
is the “Freetown” of CPH. Located in “Christianshavn” borough. Here the 5-0
never comes unless it’s for a razzia, cause the weed is sold openly in the
little main street, even though it’s illegal in Denmark by law. Out here you’ll
find all kinds of people, freaks, turists and a lot of good vibes. Nice concerts
out there as well, check the program at “Loppen” when you drop by.
4. If it’s summertime, go for a swim in the harbour, at
“Islands Brygge” or at the artificial beach right back the mall
“Fsiketorvet”. Nice ladies and farely clean water right in the center of the
city.
Go check it, but go in the summer for long long nights and
nice vibes. The winter’s too cold and dark up here. If your planning a trip drop
