Shit That’s Currently Inspiring Us… From Wooster Readers

From Jason:

Nature is the most inspiring thing to me, I took this
picture (above) at a camping groung in Ohio.

style="font-weight: bold;">From Al Marcy:

Life, as it happens smile It is inspiring that I
walked from the University of Minnesota campus to visit a buddy who got to go to
the Minneapolis School of Art (which cost ten times as much!) and we laughed at
our fortunes, then, in the fall of 1965, and now, in the summer of 2005, I am
disabled by Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, whatever that is, and live in
Phoenix and I am still able to laugh. People are great, life is rotten, often,
and war and peace still try to appear as backdrops instead of passing
props.

I like to visit your website, too smile  No Photo, just a
colon and a right parenthesis.

fueling me lately is
a free radio station in the heart

of olympia,
WA,
This radio station plays the rarest, funkiest, out
there
shiite.
98.5 free radio.

From Tara:

My
town. I’ve been documenting the strange
juxtapositions I am finding around
town. I’ve made
some, like the image above, into postcards,  as
/>well.

From
Bec:

To be honest, you guys inspire me. I’ve been taking
photos of Melbourne street art over the past 3 years and hope to put a book
together in the near future. I’ve been genuinely impressed by your hard work,
dedication and love of street artists work the globe over - so much so, I find
myself checking the site daily for the latest updates, and there is a real sense
of being a part of, and witness to, a movement. I’ve been listening to the
podcasts interspersed by some of my favourite tracks at the moment from Nine
Inch Nails - Right Where It Belongs, Fischerspooner - Just Let Go, & The Bravery
- No Brakes, amongst others. As well as being totally immersed in my work at
Polyester Books - here in Melbourne ( href="http://www.polyester.com.au/">www.polyester.com.au).  The picture I’ve
sent you is one I made up entirely of brushes that I downloaded from sf
austina’s site, hope you like it.

From Seena Liff:

As a poet, I find that lately I
have been inspired by the past. More specifically, by my past; people and events
that were meaningful to me in some way jump into my head and out the tip of my
hand into words. It’s not conscious; I don’t seem to have much to do with it, so
I try to get out of the way and just let it express itself.
/>

I am also always inspired by Patti Smith.

Here’s one of my recent
poems:

Wife and Mother

Paulette had no eyes.
Shut up
in that big house in Maine,
on that stark country road,
not even the
horses
would nod in her direction.
She only came out
when the
golden boy came;
they would go
back to the lake,
where night
becomes
an inky madness.
Only then could you see her eyes,
/>reflecting off the stars
like blinking headlights.

From Brian Butler:

im inspired by using my free/unemployed time to explore,
above is a pic of martha’s vineyard’s beautiful GAY HEAD CLIFFS

style="text-align: left;">

From Andre:
/>

well….
without a second thought..COWS!!
exactly,
COWS!
propably one of the most adorable creatures in planet
(along
with donkeys)
with the most similarities with people.
And if you
don’t believe that take a look around you,
see all these faces in the bus
u use in the job you’re
working in the clubs you’re having a
drink..
everywhwre.
the only difference from people is that cows doesn’t
/>bother anyone and live in peave among their community
till we, the
people, get involved, as usual, and mess
up
things once more, as
usual.
and honestly, i do believe that the time where the cows

/>realize the situation and wake up from the their
beatifully oblivion is
near and then…..........
you know the “planet of apes” film.
forget
that and think about “planet of cows”  reality.
so,for me as an human
being,... and an artrist as
well,
i’m focusing on praise them, try to
make them as
friends as possible ,so when the time is come and
things
will change,i can sit next next to their
leaders as a translator or
something while all of you
you’ll be kept in the next room for life
experiments
and entertaitment!
u heard the voice, so now it’s your
choice!
thank you!

From Alexi:

Greeting from South Africa,
smile

Alexi here, I work in an industry that lacks creativity and
inspiration. I see black ties, white collar shirts and fake passionless people
everyday.

My Inspiration lies within the people who are trying to
break this monotonous culture with colour and defiance. Johannesburg is growing
everyday and the roots of street art are really beginning to develop. the
ability for art to bring so many together is incredible. i have made connections
throughout the country based on one thing. ART. And YOU guys both bring that to
me everyday. and constantly try to develop art and culture though the wooster
site. And Bring artists, art lovers and friends together. its unbelievable!i
cant believe the amount of work you guys are doing. holy shit its amazing.
projects here, projects there. you ask what inspires me?

its the
people like both of you. Thank you for everything you have shown me and thank
you for bringing inspiration to me through the content of the website and you
passion for life and art.

It is people who (daily) go against what is
known to be right and try push through the oppression. its people that are out
on the street at 3 am putting up artwork Free for everybody to see.

/>This only forces me to go out and join this social movement. This inspires me
to post, paint and stick my shit all over the city smile

once again
thanks you Marc and Sara

From
Paul and Luke:

A new UK Film
/>

Don’t know if you guys out
there have had a chance to catch low-key UK indie flick ‘Dead Man’s Shoes’ yet?
Hopefully it’s got a US release. Shot in 2 weeks with a half a script and zero
budget, it’s the most powerful movie us Insects have seen for years, and we
watch a helluva lot of movies! Everything is perfect… the acting, the script,
the music (it’s released through WARP Films). Heck, even the poster image is
great. A truly mesmeric, inspiring piece of work… the iconic key image of
lead actor Paddy Considine with axe and army jacket is gracing our desktop
wallpapers as we type! Ultimate respect to director Shane Meadows. Further info
