/>Too-Sicks is an art collective or crue from Winnipeg, Manitoba in Canada. The
artists involved are: Shaun.Morin, Cyrus Smith, Fred.Thomas, Melanie.Rocan, Ian
August and Dave.Wityk. All members are currantly living in Winnipeg. The members
in the collective range from age 23 to 30 years old. We enjoy meeting up
together on bikes, cruising with road rockets(beers) and each carrying bags full
of materials to nail up on wooden surfaces. We call it (Nailbombing). we call
the material we nail up (Pre-fabs) because thier pre-fabricated for the streets.
We love customized street installations of all sorts as well as working in the
studio on oil paintings and music as well. Keeping creative is important here in
Winnipeg because it helps you get through boredom. As far as influences go, most
all of us have had a history with skateboarding, comic books, hiphop, graffiti
and fine arts. Artist who have inspired me are Basil. Wolverton, Philip.Guston,
Robert.Crumb and Berry.McGee. The work we nail up tends to be on either metal or
wood as well as cardboard and fabric. because of the harsh winters we find that
wood and metal become more permanent for the wear and tear of brutal climates.
Exterior latex paint is used on the pre-fabs for extra permanence. We usually
have pre-fab making parties once a month, the last one was in March and we made
300 in all. Our goal this summer is to nail up as many pre-fabs as we can on the
local telephone poles and other wooden surfaces and document the changes. We are
performing a public service, free of charge. hahah.
