Poppa - The A’s to Our Q’s:

Wooster: How did
you get started in creating art for the street?

Poppa:
I started with Graffiti but i don?t want to talk about that. Finland
is so dull, everything is so gray, there is no leagal graffiti there is nothing
in the streets that can cheer you up. they are buffing graffiti like mad mans
and i?m sick of that shit. It?s like they want you to be sad and down. i just
like to create stuff that cheer people up. anything, just some colors on the
wall that people don?t kill them selfs…anything creative is good…if i know
how to play harmonica i would be on the streets fucking jamming…

/>Wooster: What other street artists do you most admire and
why?

Poppa: There is so many..Peat, Sixten,
Submit, Klutch, you know i could go on and on…Peat got so nice and unique
style. Sixten, well his works are just amazing, always very fresh ideas. Submit,
young fellow with mad skills, always very sharp works, you can really see that
he does it with love. Klutch is my hero, over forty and still kicking it,
hitting streets, organizing shows and just look at that dudes works…that is
the way i wanna be when i?m forty, hell i wanna be like that when i?m
sixty…still kicking it..

Wooster: What’s your
favorite city, neighborhood, or block, to post and/or to see street art?
/>
Poppa: Helsinki

Wooster:
What inspires you now?

Poppa: friends are huge
inspiration, but lately stencilrevolution has been the kick for me, there is so
many talented artist visiting on that site…

Wooster:
What are you currently working on?  Can you give us a sneak peek?
/>
Poppa:   i have up coming exhibition in march 2004. i?m
trying to get lot of paintings done for that one..
