Pigeon Man - The A’s to Our Q’s:

Wooster: How did you get
started in creating art for the street?

Pigeon Man:
i realised visiting art galleries was stale and boring and wanted to get my art
to everyone, and put it in some context, so i started putting it up on the
street. i’ve found phone boxes can be a great undercover place to put my work in
the winter as no one else uses them other than drug dealers and ho’s advertising
their arse.

Wooster: Why pigeons?

/>Pigeon Man: In london they are every where, they where once
beautiful birds but like everything else that ends up in the city they got
ruined and now they are seen as just grey, boring vermin. i wanted to give them
back some individuallity and vibrancy. i also see the pigeon as my own little
symbol for london. Picassos peace dove is a pigeon.

Wooster:
How would you describe your style?

Pigeon
Man:
free, expressive and energetic.

/>Wooster: What other street artists do you most admire and
why?

Pigeon Man: banksy coz i see that huge pulp
fiction one every bloody day and thats what you call in your face, its in a
prime position and huge. umm adam neate, dface, toasters, the cleaning crew, i
dunno i see so much everyday that i love, it’s hard to say.anyone that puts up
good stuff regulary. i like artists with a strong passion for what there
doing.

Wooster: What’s your favorite city,
neighborhood, or block, to post and/or to see street art?

/>Pigeon Man: london, the work is great all over but especially
the east, i’ve mainly put work up round the east but wanna start putting up in
the center to cheer up all the suits, i wanna post one up on the palace for the
queen.

Wooster: What inspires you now?

/>Pigeon Man: my peers,my little bro and just walking around
the streets.

Wooster: What are you currently working
on?  Can you give us a sneak peek?

Pigeon Man:
i’ve just found a book by nattasha merrit and it has some really beautiful
images of women in it so i wanna try and do some thing with those, i’ve only
just started thinking about it so there wont be any up for at least a week, but
keep your eyes pealed. i have a very new website, not even finished yet, but i’m
trying to post alot of photos of work up there, check it out href="http://www.pman.cjb.net">www.pman.cjb.net.
