/>Age: Almost 23.
Hometown: Helsinki,
Finland.
Where do you now live?: Lisbon, Portugal.
/>Where would you most like to live?: Santiago de Compostela,
Spain. Or possibly Mexico City.
Who was your first “hero” in life?:
I was a bookish kid with random tastes - it was a tie between Mark
Twain and Black Beauty.
What is your favorite thing to do on your
day off from work?: I always end up watching tv or drawing or eating
Chinese (if I’m in Helsinki). I’d really like to take my little sister to record
stores to feed her newly-found goth streak.
What is your favorite
color?: Rust.
Who (or what) do you love?: That’s
a bit personal don’t you think? I guess I prefer to tell people through other
channels.

/>Who and/or what are some of your influences?
/>Spending a lot of my childhood in my parents’ work places: in a huge
fabric printing factory hall with my father, getting to mix colours and do the
repro stuff and hang out with designers; and in a support home for mental
patients where my mother still works, learning to spot psychosis and
schizophrenia before I went to school. After that: political movements, old
poster art, Latin America, MAD magazine, a great deal of literature, and living
far from home.
What other artists do you most admire?
I’m repeating lots of other people here, but
stencilrevolution.com is what’s kept me going even through the arctic winter.
Xero is a future superstar and a good friend. The whole Melbourne scene. Daniil
Harms, a Russian surrealist writer. O Jarbanzo Negro, a Galician circus ska
band. Tarkovski. Subcomandante Marcos.
How would you
describe your art to someone who could not see it?
I’d
like to think it’s urban commentary, image-mixing for subtly propagandic
purposes. Pretty often it’s just colourful police cars chasing each
other.
What other talent would most like to
have?
Is it ok if I grab two? I’d like to drive a truck
and speak Arabic.
What do you fear the most?
/>
That my best moments are already behind.
/>What is your greatest ambition?
I’ve always
thought that I’d like to be a grandmother and an academic when I’m old… but
right now it seems difficult enough to find a nice country to live
in.
