/>age: 22
hometown: walnut creek, ca
/>now live: new york city
where would you most
like to live: tokyo and berlin are really amazing. if i spoke the
language fluently i might go back to either city. i’m learning swedish this fall
and want to visit stockholm soon. i love traveling but i think new york fits me
best.
who was your first “hero” in life? i was involved in
gymnastics growing up and was completely obsessed with nadia comaneci. her
dedication and skill were really inspiring and impressionable. i still love that
vintage sports / olympics aesthetic. i want my apartment to look like a 1970’s
gym with racing stripes, primary colors, and gold medals.
what is
your favorite thing to do on your day off from work: flea markets and
booze
what is your favorite color: red
who
(or what) do you love? fast food iconography, keyboards, kure kure
takora, jim houser and julie verhoeven, things that look cute but are actually
really dark or demented, 60s design and fashion, stripes, and cult films like
the forbidden zone or daisies.
who /what are some of your
influences: wallpaper and clothing patterns, vintage children’s books,
teen culture, old punk records and posters, outsider art and obsessive
compulsive drawings, suburbia, artists like aurbrey beardsley, peter max, rita
ackerman, henrik drescher, clayton brothers, andy ward, and margaret
kilgallen.
