Obituary Street Art - We Need Your Help

src="http://www.woostercollective.com/images2/philipj.jpg" />

style="text-align: left;">

The other day on Wooster street we can across a large
sticker (shown above) that was created by an unknown artist in tribute to the
late architect Philip Johnson who had died just a day or two before. It reminded
us of a small sticker we saw a few years back that was done immediately after
the death of the legendary outsider artist, Howard Finster. While “obituary
street art” is still fairly rare, more and more artists are using the streets as
a platform to show their respect and to commemorate the passing of legendary
figures.

We thought it would interesting to put together a collection
of these amazing obituary pieces so if you have any photos of examples that
you’ve found (or done) please send them along to us.

artist of the piece above.  It’s Hart+Larsson. You can see more photos href="http://www.hartlarsson.com">here. href="mailto:larsson@hartlarsson.com">
