A year and a half ago, Sara and I currated our first Wooster
Collective gallery show here in New York. It was called “Hollywood - The Remix”
and featured over 30 amazing artists. Each artists was given a classic Hollywood
movie poster and asked to “remix” it. Not too long before the show we had met a
terrific Belgian artist and architect named Gaetane Michaux. For her piece she
did a laser cut puzzle that integrated posters for both Catwoman and Spiderman.
After the show, we put the piece up on “Wooster Collecting” (a section of the
Wooster site that seriously needs to be updated) and it sold immediately.
Gaetane hasn’t lost the bug to create these intricate laser puzzles. Over the
weekend she sent us some snaps of her latest ones. Each one is 24x48 and made
with real puzzle pieces.
