“MassDistraction is a group of LA artists
promoting Recreational Politics.  Our focus is on that which distracts us (as a
culture) and the fact that we are happier being distracted.  MassD creates
strong images that are already charged with meaning, expands on them, and
translates them onto posters, stickers, stencils and T-shirts.  At the core
MassD’s artwork feels like it is saying something but on closer inspection it
has no political call to action. MassD is politics for entertainment purposes
only - because these two facets of culture have finally become irreparably
indistinguishable.  We employ The Eye of Knowledge to symbolize our philosophy
that the only truth is absurdity.  We place this eye in a newspaper font logo
and aesthetic, to signify the power of media. But all BS aside, most of the time
we just do it because it’s fun”
