London | December 18 | The Incredible Hull

Hull’ s finest artists, graf writers, designers and troublemakers all exhibiting imaginary record sleeves together for the first time. PINKY, JAKe, ZIML, ECO, PARIS, CLOUDY, XENZ, DETOUR, PARIS HAIR, DR.DOG

Hull, where’s Hull?

David Bowie meets Mick Ronson in the back room of an East Hull pub in 1974 where they plan the next stage in rock’s revolution. Just like in April 1642 when Hull’s great and good plotted over a couple of pints in the top room of the Old White Hart to refuse King Charles the First’s entry to the city, thereby starting the English civil war. Fast-forward again to 1986 and we find little Norman Cook looping his first beats in the back bedroom of Paul Heaton’s house in West HullS

Welcome one and all to The Incredible Hull!

Yet perhaps more momentous than all these events is the mysterious disappearance from history of the infamous Incredible Hull recording label that for years people have talked about in hushed tones. Did it really exist? What happened to all the money? Did they really have that many number ones? Did The Beatles nearly sign? Where did all the gold discs go?
For the first time we scratch away at some of these urban myths replacing them with new ones. Your guides on this trip are some of Hull’s most infamous graffiti artists, illustrators, painters, designers and trouble makers: Pinky, Ziml, Eco, Paris, Xenz, Jake, Detour, Spam, Paris Hair and
Cloudy.
