LOGAN HICKS VS. NIKE (Hooptown)

/>A few months back, href="http://stencilrevolution.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=500&si=&thumb=1
&page=6&sort=1&perpage=15&ppuser=341&stype=/">Logan Hicks
hipped us to the
fact that he had just begun working with Nike on a top secret project that
incorporated his stencil art into a new series of animated shorts.  The idea of
Logan working with Nike sounded terrific. Nike’s been putting out great creative
spots for years, and Logan’s been busting his ass for a long time consitently
putting out some amazing work year after year.  Well this week the series,
Hooptown, debuted on the web at href="http://www.nikebasketball.com">NikeBasketball.com. And it’s fucking
amazing. Episode One, entitled “My Time is Now” features Vince Carter of the
Toronto Raptors - depected completely in stencil art - concentrating before a
game. Carter comes to life with Nick Cogan and Raw Power handling the
animations.

After months of seing brand campaigns co-opting street
art and completely fucking it up (ie Nissan, Puma, Napster) it’s fantastic to
end the year on a high note with Logan’s work for Nike.  Great stuff.

/>(Look for Episode Two, featuring LeBron Jamess, which is expected to drop by
years end.)
