JACE - The A’s to Our Q’s:
Wooster: How did you get started in creating art
for the street?
JACE: To make it as short as possible, i saw
some NY piece on TV in 84 in an Hip-Hop emission. This was the first flash,
after that my teacher in high school owned “subway art”, each class i was
absorbed by it. It was the beginning of the end!
Wooster: What
other street artists do you most admire and why?
JACE:
OUUUUUUUH so many !!!!! I loved Banksy
touch, Alexone
humor, Os Gemeos originality,
WK techniques,
"http://www.obeygiant.com">Andre the giant production,
"http://www.space-invaders.com/">Space invaders invasion,
"http://www.art-public.com/artiste/pignon-ernest/">Ernest Pignon Ernest
oldies but goodies, Keith Haring...
/>
Wooster: What’s your favorite city, neighborhood, or block, to
post and/or to see street art?
JACE: Here it’s difficult to
see some new stuff, styles have staied oldies but a new generation is getting
up. Paris was a good place to see street-art before that big fucking buff
(korrigan).
Wooster: What inspires you now?
/>JACE: A big chocolate ice cream with cherries on top of it.
/>Wooster: What are you currently working on? Can you give us a sneak
peek?
JACE: I’m working as a 1/2 time drawing teacher since
this year, but i often change jobs (most of time it is graphics jobs). I don’t
really understand your last question. But to finish i will make you laught :
i’ve visited your city (NY) in 89, i was so happy to be there i decided to paint
in the street the second days afternoon (i was there for 6 days), it was a
broadway crossing road. I got my cans off, just began to draw my character then
a fucking civil cop catch my hands. In a few minutes i was in the cop car, they
threw me in “jail”, photos, fingerprints… I’ve waited 30 hours my judgement,
they didn’t want me to get of America, they had to find the owner wall!!!!!!At
the end they decided to judge me and I’ve been acquitted with this sermon :
“NEVER COME BACK!!!!!!!”
