We’re extremely saddened and shocked to learn this
morning that Hunter S. Thompson has died at his home in Colorado after
committing suicide.

Thompson was one of the greatest living American
authors and by far our favorite. Not everything he wrote was good. But when he
was good, he was great. And when he was great, he could change how you looked at
life and your role in it. For us, Thompson’s book Hell’s Angels, was by far his best. Even better then style="font-weight: bold;">Fear and Loathing if you can believe that. He
also wrote a short story called “The Kentucky Derby is Decandent and Depraved”
(in which he maces the Governor of Kentucky) that’s one of the funniest things
we’ve ever read.

Fuck, it’s hard to accept that Thompson took his own
life.  Damn.
