recently i was contacted by a woman from
pittsburgh who was just starting out making art for the street, she seems to be
working very hard, developing a lot of cool stuff, and becoming involved with
the community of pittsburgh,so i asked her to introduce herself…..here’s a
bit of what she said.
I just started doing street art about 6
months ago. No idea why it took me so long to get to it, it’s a really natural
extension of my feelings about art. Plus I’ve been frustrated with
collaborating a bunch in the past but also with having a bunch of work in piles
in my room that no one had seen. I started noticing street art in Pittsburgh
that really excited and moved me - BL4CKH4M and SEAK MAC and these great little
guys by KIDS and other things whose makers’ names I don’t know. Frustration +
excitement = me hanging up this collage I had been making in my room. That was
the first. (now), I’m working on my first drawn and painted mural.
/>Learning about paint and design. SEAK MAC and I are trying to get a show of
some great street artists internationally to Pittsburgh and it looks like it’s
going to work. LOOK FOR DETAILS SOON, it should be very cool. Just met FreaKlub,
whose work I love love love. More than anything, taking the horsing around very
seriously. Giddyup.
