Give ‘Em Props!.... Big Boy Skateboard Deck by
Is there ONE painting, sticker,
stencil, sculpture, or piece of architecture that truly inspires you in your
daily work?

“Hey
Woost! This one is easy for me I was thinking about it when I started reading
wooster. The one thing that inspires me always is this Big Boys skateboard deck
from the early 80’s from Zorlac Skateboards.
Austin, Texas had one
of my favorite punk scenes when I was coming up and the Big Boys are probably my
favorite band from that time. They killed all the punk/skate stereotypes at
once. They were overweight skaters that shredded (hence the name). they were a
punk rock band who played Funk and had a horn section (the Chili Peppers were
considered as “rip offs” at the time). They let everyone in the audience up on
stage to sing along and they ended every show saying “go start your own
band”.
Anyway I owned the board and I actually waited about a week so
I could stare at the graphics unblemished before I wrecked it in the 7-11
parking lot.
It inspired me then and still does now.
You
can get a replica from Jeff Newton’s new skate company
