“It’s not easy to narrow it down to just ONE inspirational mark. So i’d
like to offer up the inspirational envelopes i occasionally receive from
Michael Sieben. Mike is one of the head consolers at the Camp Fig gallery in
downtown Austin, TX, and does a bunch of graphics for Terrible One. A few years
ago Sieben contacted me out of the blue looking to do a zine trade, (Mike also
does the “Programmed from India"zine). So i gave him my address and we swapped,
but he never stopped sending things. Every once in a while a postcard, or
package will show up from Mike and it never fails to make me laugh. He’s got a
ridiculous sense of humor and it shines through in his drawings. It’s such an
energizer to get surprise mail from someone. It doesn’t take long to put
together and mail out, but the effects resonate. Usually, it not only spurs me
to respond, but also to reach out and connect with someone else. THANKS
