/>“What one artist or image has inspired me the most in my daily work? Mmmm, I
was thinking of putting down a contemporary designer/artists, but then I thought
no!, I would think back further and pick out an artist that I feel has
influenced me and still is influencing me now. Her name is Hannah HOCH (Germany
1889 - 1978) She was the only female member of the Berlin Dada movement working
with photomontage to create colour and B/W illustrations spanning nearly half a
century. Her early works were extremely politically charged though to here later
forays into surrealism and abstraction which I find exciting and appeal to where
I’m at. Her work is challenging yet simple in its execution. I have 7” single of
Beck’s ‘Devils haircut’ at home which uses one of her images”...
