“In 1974, a collective of artists called
href="http://www.libertysoftware.be/cml/cadillacranch/antfarm/crabaf.htm">Ant
Farm decided to place 10 Cadillacs, ranging from a 1949 Club Coupe to a
1963 Sedan, in a wheat field located west of Amarillo, Texas. Mr. Stanley Marsh
III,  a local helium tycoon, provided some place for the cars to rest known as
href="http://www.libertysoftware.be/cml/cadillacranch/ranch/crabtr.htm">Cadillac
Ranch.  I have actually seen the ranch in person as a small child on one of
my families “cross-country” VW micro-bus drives! It has been imprinted in my
mind ever since. I would have to say this public sculpture has been a great
inspiration for the simple fact that it was a very crazy idea that was actually
pulled off. “... Justin Kees
